Important Dates

•  April 6th we will have our Walk & Roll to School from Denver and Puryear Park. A flyer with meet up times and information is being sent home. We will also have an after school play date at Denver Park. We hope to see everyone there.
•  April 12th will be our last Moms Night Out of the school year. More information will be posted on our Facebook page, Shore Acres Eagles - What’s happening at school.
•  April 22nd we will be teaming up with Keep Pinellas Beautiful for an after school Earth Day Clean-up. Keep an eye out for permission slips.
• We will have a Family Game Night and Ice Cream Social on April 28th at 6pm. This will also be our last PTA General Meeting of the school year and we will be voting on next years PTA Executive Board. From PTA’s Nominating Committee (Tami Shadduck, Stephanie Cox and Nicole Wahl), the current nominees are:
  • President: Gwyne Spinale
  • Vice President: Sue Spurgeon
  • Treasurer: Tara Johnson
  • Secretary: Dawn Sims
  • Corresponding Secretary: Amanda Grow

In order to be nominated, a person must be a current paid member of the Shore Acres PTA. Members must con- sent to nomination for selected board position. If you would like to nominate yourself or another willing party, please email Tami. Nominations for the above 5 executive board positions will also be accepted from the floor by current PTA members the evening of the vote.  Teacher Appreciation Week is Coming!

• Monday May 2 - May 6 is Teacher Appreciation week. If you own a local business or restaurant and would like to donate items, breakfast or lunch for this week, please reach out to us at [email protected]. Also, if you’d like to help with this event, please email us.​

October 6th is National Walk to School Day and what better way to celebrate than with Shore Acres Elementary Walk N' Roll to School!

Walk N' Roll events are held on the first Wednesday of every other month.

How it Works:

• Morning: Join SAE families in the morning before school to walk, bike, skate, scoot and roll to school together!
• Afterschool: Walk N' Roll on over to Denver Park for a light snack and an hour of play with SAE friends between 1:50pm-3:00pm!

2 different park meet-up locations:

1. PURYEAR PARK (Wheels Only): Meet in the parking lot closest to tennis courts at 6:55 and depart at 7:00am. Distance is 1 mile from SAE and about a 6-minute bike ride.
2. DENVER PARK: Meet in parking lot at 6:50am, and depart at 7:00am. Distance is .06 miles from SAE and about a 12-minute walk.​

• May 4th (National Bike to School Day)

Parents: Trunk or Treat is fast approaching! We are excited for this fun event!

• When: October 15th
• Time: 6-7:30pm

Could you help us out by volunteering?

Our sign-up forms were sent home today in student agendas. We realize everyone has different volunteering availability, so we are making it easy! Choose any/all options that work best:

• Host a Trunk for the event: All trunks should plan to arrive by 5pm to allow time to decorate before the event starts at 6pm. We will close the gate to all cars at 5:30pm. All trunks will be required to stay until 7:30pm when the event ends. We recommend all trunks have approximately 1,000 pieces of candy.
• Donate a Pumpkin: Please drop off pumpkins to the front office by Friday, October 8th. Teachers will need time to decorate prior to the event.
  
• Donate Candy: Please drop off candy to the front office by Thursday, October 14th. We need extra candy on hand to supply for trunks when they run out.
